VerifyYou confirms you're a real, unique person using a quick camera check on your mobile device.
Depending on how the platform set it up, you'll either verify anonymously (no phone number, email, or login) or create a VerifyYou account with your phone number or email. Each person can create only one account.
Before you verify, you'll see exactly what will be shared with the platform. Your images are never stored. The camera check runs automatically and confirms you're a real person without keeping your photos.
Businesses use VerifyYou to prevent bots and multi-account abuse.
Common use cases:
Each person can only verify once, which protects these services from fraud and abuse.
Many verifications don't need an account at all, depending on how the platform set it up, you may verify anonymously with just the camera check.
If the platform uses accounts:
Returning users:
On the same device, you're recognized automatically, no login needed. On a new device, enter your phone number or email and complete a quick camera check. No password, ever.
Once you have an account, your verification works across VerifyYou-powered services that use accounts.
VerifyYou provides the verification technology, but the business or app you're verifying for is the one that decides who gets access. If a check didn't pass or you're having trouble getting in, the fastest way to get help is to contact the business or app you were verifying for, who can review your case and let you through.
After a denied or failed check:
You'll see a Contact Support button directly on that screen. It connects you with the business you were verifying for, who can look into your case.
Before reaching out, try:
When you reach out, it helps to include:
Why them and not us? VerifyYou confirms that you're a real, unique person, but the business you're verifying for owns your account and decides who's allowed in, so they're the ones who can review your case and approve access.
You need a mobile device with a front-facing camera and an internet connection.
Requirements:
Mobile device: A smartphone with a front-facing camera. If you start on a desktop computer, you'll see a QR code to continue on your phone.
Internet connection: WiFi or cellular data
Phone number or email: Only needed if the platform you're verifying with uses VerifyYou accounts. It must be able to receive the code we send.
Recommended browsers: Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android. Other browsers may work but these are recommended.
Verification takes about a minute in total.
Verification is automatic and takes about a minute from start to finish.
What to expect:
Occasionally additional automated checks run and the result can take a minute or two. If the camera check doesn't pass, you'll see what to fix and can try again right away. Improving your lighting and camera positioning resolves most issues.
If the camera check doesn't pass, you'll see guidance explaining what went wrong and you can retry right away.
If it doesn't pass:
Common fixes:
Most issues are resolved by improving lighting or camera positioning. If you've tried several times without success, you may be asked to wait a little while between attempts before trying again. If you still can't get verified, contact the business or app you were verifying for.
Most verification issues are caused by lighting or camera positioning. Verification must be completed on a mobile device using your front-facing camera. If you start on a desktop computer, you'll see a QR code to continue on your phone.

Technical issues:
Don't use filters or camera effects. Must be your actual face (not a photo of a photo).
Older devices Some older phones may not support the camera check. If you're getting an error on an older phone, try using a newer smartphone if you have access to one.
If the screen seems stuck:
If you've tried several times and still can't get verified, contact the business or app you were verifying for. After repeated attempts you may be asked to wait a little while before trying again.
If your verification is denied, you may see "Human is not confirmed". It means our system wasn't able to confirm your verification.
This can happen because:
If you've already verified before:
VerifyYou allows one account per person. If our system finds you've already verified, a new attempt won't pass and retrying won't help. If you've never used VerifyYou before and think this is a mistake, contact the business or app you were verifying for and they can review it.
What you can do:
If you believe this is a mistake, tap the Contact Support button on that screen to reach the business you were verifying for, who can review your case and let you through.
When you reach out, it helps to include:
Legitimate users shouldn't be blocked. The business you're verifying for can review your case and approve access.
Some platforms may ask you to re-verify periodically, depending on their requirements.
Common reasons for re-verification:
What re-verification looks like:
If you deleted your account, you can verify again after the deletion fully completes. Deletion isn't immediate (see our privacy policy for details).
If you're having trouble with re-verification, see our troubleshooting guide or contact the business or app you were verifying for.
Your code should usually arrive within a minute.
Try these steps:
If you're traveling:
Using a VoIP or virtual number?
Number apps and some VoIP services can't always receive verification codes. If possible, use your main mobile number.
Carrier blocking:
Our codes are sent from toll-free numbers in the US and Canada (and appear from the sender name VerifyYou in many other countries). Some carriers block automated messages, so ask your carrier to unblock automated or toll-free messages. See Carrier blocking SMS codes for carrier-specific steps.
If codes still don't arrive after several minutes, contact the business or app you were verifying for.
Codes expire after a few minutes.
If your code isn't working:
Common errors you may see:
"Code expired": Request a new code
"Invalid code": Check the digits are correct, with no spaces
"Too many attempts": Wait a few minutes, then request a new code
Each code can only be used once. If you request multiple codes, only the newest one will work.
International text messages can take a couple of minutes to arrive. Wait a couple of minutes before requesting a new code.
If you're roaming:
If you have a foreign number:
Using a VoIP or virtual number?
Number apps and some VoIP services can't always receive verification codes. If possible, use your main mobile number.
If you continue to experience issues, contact the business or app you were verifying for.
Some carriers block automated text messages.
How our codes are sent:
In the US and Canada, codes come from toll-free numbers. In many other countries they appear from the sender name VerifyYou.
What to ask your carrier:
Ask them to remove any message blocking, spam filtering, or content filters on your line so you can receive automated or toll-free messages.
Common carriers:
T-Mobile
AT&T
Verizon
Prepaid carriers
After your carrier confirms the block is removed:
Request a new verification code. If codes still don't arrive, contact the business or app you were verifying for.
